Railway Recruitment - RRB NTPC - About Exam
Railway Recruitment Board has released notification to fill in the vacancies of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC). The posts which will be filled include Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways.
With a total of 35,277 vacancies to be filled all over India, RRB NTPC recruitment gives a golden opportunity to all those candidates who are from non-engineering background and still want to make their career in Indian Railways. Candidates who have minimum educational qualification of 12th [+2 level] or degree from a recognized university or its equivalent are eligible to apply for RRB NTPC 2019 Exams.

Undergraduate Posts
Educational Qualification required to apply under this category would be 12th [ +2 level ] or equivalent examination and the candidate’s age should be between 18 to 30 years as on 01.07.2019

Graduate Posts
Educational qualification required to apply for graduate posts is a University Degree or its Equivalent and the age limit is between 18 to 33 years as on 01.07.2019.

Selection Process for RRB NTPC 2019
The selection process of RRB NTPC 2019 involves the following stages in the same order.
Stage I – Computer Based Test
Stage II – Computer Based Test
Typing Skill Test / Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable)

Stage I – CBT – This will be common for all notified posts of RRB NTPC. Stage I test is an online test, total number of questions would be 100, each carrying one mark, to be answered in 90 minutes.

The questions of CBT 1 will be objective type MCQ’s with negative marking. 1/3rd of mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Syllabus of Stage 1 CBT
Stage 1 CBT is common for all notified posts and hence, the syllabus covers general subjects like
- General Awareness
- Mathematics
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
The Qualifying Marks for Stage 1 CBT:
The minimum percentage marks to qualify RRB NTPC 2019 online exams are as follows:
UR- 40%
EWS- 40%,
OBC (Non creamy layer) -30%,
SC-30%,
ST-25%
The normalized marks of 1st stage CBT will be used for shortlisting of candidates for 2nd stage CBT, based on the merit.
Stage 2 – CBT – This will be online examination, with different graded difficulty levels of 2,3,4,5 and 6 for each of 7th CPC level.
All posts within same level of 7th CPC shall have a common 2nd stage CBT. If candidates are eligible for more than one level of 7th CPC posts based on their educational qualifications, then they have to give common 1st stage CBT and corresponding 2nd stage CBT for each level of 7th CPC.
The 2nd stage CBT of Stage 2 would be either Typing Skill Test or Computer Based Aptitude Test.

For posts which requires Typing Skill Test or Computer Based Aptitude Test, normalized marks of 2nd Stage CBT will be used for shortlisting of candidates for these tests.
Further, Candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master should give Computer Based Aptitude Test [CBAT] and For the posts Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, typing skill test will be conducted.
Once candidates are shortlisted in the 2nd Stage CBT, the next step in the selection process would be document verification and medical examination.
